Metalsmithing 102 - Stone Setting Class

$80.00

Ready to build on the basics? Metalsmithing 102 is a beginner-friendly class designed for students who want to strengthen their soldering skills, while adding basic stone setting techniques to their repertoire.

In this hands-on workshop, students will learn how to:

  • Solder a sterling silver band to a pre-made sterling silver bezel cup.

  • Properly fit and set a 6mm cabochon stone. 10+ stone options will be available to choose from.

This class focuses on foundational fabrication skills with an emphasis on precision, confidence, and craftsmanship. Students will work exclusively in sterling silver and leave with a completed piece of wearable jewelry and a stronger understanding of the metalsmithing process.

No prior stone-setting experience is required. First time beginners are welcome, though some familiarity with metalsmithing techniques learned in our introductory Metalsmithing 101 class may be helpful.

This class will take place on a working lavender farm! The lavender gift shop will be open for gift or drink purchases (there is no prepared food for sale). Please wear farm-appropriate shoes for the workshop, as some areas of the farm have uneven ground. Also, while our bees are typically busy foraging on the lavender blooms and are very non-aggressive, we recommend that anyone with a severe bee allergy carry an EpiPen with them during the event.
